Installing power steering – Part 1

I’ve been thinking about power steering for a while now, and every time I get in the vehicle for a drive I think of it even more, as my right shoulder starts to ache, and the prospect of yet more physio on the shoulder looms larger.

After a bit of investigation, it became clear that the only available bolt-on kit came from Paul Heystee in the Netherlands (http://www.heystee-automotive.com).

I decided to bite the bullet and go for it, at a cost of about $A2028. The thing I forgot was that Customs would add on import duty and GST, which added about $A350 to the price, but never mind, such is life.

I assembled the pictures below over a little while, and they show how the bits should fit together. I got a lot of them after I received the kit, as a result of asking Paul Heystee for information about how the whole lot fitted together.

The bracket below is slightly different to the one supplied and shown mounted, but the idea is there.
